This was my lunch today. It’s a Japanese dish called tendon. It’s a shortend way of saying tempura donburi.

Tempura is a Japanese style deep fried – anything, really. Whether seafood or vegetables or meat.

Donburi  means bowl dish. Usually rice at bottom, and whatever you want to eat with on top. In case of my lunch here, tempura.

Tempura has its origin in Portugal, but Japanified over long period of time. The word is also with foreign origin. Either latin word “tempora“ or Portuguese word “tempero“. (I think there are debates in that)
